@nickademuss42 I remember those old AFX cars, too — they were the ones that my uncles had stashed away before I was a kid. The fastest cars I ever had were the 440 X2s, but when it came to time spent racing, I drove an AFX more than just about any other chassis. It was so satisfying to get it sliding around a corner that I even built a track that was one circle up, one circle down, joined by short straights just so I could spend more time turning.

@nickademuss42 I use 45 ohm controllers as well. No, the old Auroras and tjets aren’t fast as more modern HO cars, but they are much more satisfying when you’re able to do several hot laps continuously. You really have to “drive” the cars with little to no magnets. Great setup you got. What are the dimensions?

@rodentcafeteria I agree, I have a pair of most types of cars, with and without magnets, my vintage AFX pancake motor ones are great fun, I run them on 12v so I can use the same 45ohm controllers. they slide and fish tale all over the place, lap times are in the ten second range if your lucky!

These cars are fast, but they tend to get boring after a while. Cars that don’t have a lot of magnetic pull, like Tyco HP7 or HP2, Aurora G+ (not super G+) and, of course t-jets are much more fun and require more input from the driver. Great layout!!
